If you're searching for a Christmas light hanging service near you, you'll find everyone from handymen with a ladder to full-service holiday lighting companies. They are not the same thing. Here's what a complete service should include, and the questions worth asking before you hire anyone.
What a full-service install should include
- A design first. You should know exactly what's going up before install day. We send a free mockup of your home with every quote.
- The lights. Commercial-grade LED bulbs and cords are supplied by the installer, so there's nothing for you to buy.
- Clean installation. Lights cut to fit your roofline, clips made for gutters and shingles, and cords hidden as much as possible.
- A timer. Your lights should turn on and off on their own.
- Maintenance all season. If a bulb or section goes out, the installer comes back to fix it.
- Takedown and storage. In January, everything comes down and is stored until next year.
5 questions to ask any installer
- Are the lights included, or do I supply them?
- What happens if a section goes out in December?
- When do you take the lights down, and is that included?
- How do you attach lights without damaging my roof or gutters?
- Can I see what my home will look like before I commit?
Why booking early matters
